Recruitment Video Production in Toronto

Lapse Productions makes recruitment videos that show candidates what it is actually like to work at your company: the people, the space, and the culture behind the job posting. Founder-led and Toronto-based since 2014. The right people cannot apply until they can picture themselves on your team.

What We Produce

Recruitment Video Production, Four Ways

Four formats cover almost every hiring brief. Most careers pages end up using two or three of them.

Company culture and employer brand videos

The answer to why work here. A cinematic overview of your mission, values, benefits, and the day-to-day energy of the workplace, built to anchor the hero section of your careers page.

Employee stories and spotlights

Nothing recruits like your own people. Relaxed, conversational interviews let team members share their real experience and career growth in their own words, no script in sight.

Day-in-the-life and role-specific videos

Set accurate expectations and reduce turnover. We follow one role, a developer, a sales rep, a warehouse lead, through a typical day, then you attach the video to that posting on Indeed or LinkedIn.

Office tours and workplace highlights

Show off the environment you have built. Dynamic camera moves and licensed drone footage give candidates a virtual tour of the office, the facility, or the floor they would be joining.

Telling your story to customers rather than candidates? That is a promotional video, and it has its own page. Capturing customer praise instead of employee stories? See testimonial video production.

Our Process

How Your Recruitment Video Gets Made

Five steps, two founders watching every one of them. You always know what happens next.

Discovery and brief

We start with the roles you are hiring for, the candidates you want to reach, and what actually makes people stay. That picture shapes every decision after it.

Pre-production

We plan the interview questions, choose the employees and spaces to feature, and build a shoot schedule around your team’s calendar, approved by you before anything is booked.

The shoot

A compact crew films interviews, b-roll, and the workplace in motion, usually in a single day, with minimal disruption to the people doing their actual jobs.

Edit and review

We cut the story, grade the colour, mix the sound, and add captions, then take you through two structured rounds of revisions on Frame.io.

Delivery

Final files in every length and aspect ratio your careers page and job ads need. You own all of it, outright.

Why Lapse

Why Toronto Employers Choose Lapse Productions

A job description tells candidates what the work is. A recruitment video shows them what it feels like, and in a market where top talent has options, that difference decides who applies. Our specialty is making real employees comfortable on camera, so what comes through is genuine enthusiasm rather than a rehearsed line.

We are chameleons: any team, any industry, any workplace. We film recruitment content for tech, healthcare, and manufacturing employers, and recruitment work is one part of our full video production services in Toronto.

Founder-led delivery

Dario and Kyrill, the co-founders, run every project personally, from the first call through final delivery. No account managers, no handoffs. Meet the team.

We direct non-actors

Your employees are not actors and should not sound like they are reading. Our interviews run as conversations, not scripts, drawing out the soundbites and real emotion that make a recruitment video work.

Built for the hiring funnel

One shoot feeds every stage: a master video for the careers page, cutdowns for job postings, and vertical clips for Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn hiring campaigns. Your HR team gets the full kit.

Low-disruption shoot days

Your team has jobs to do. We plan tight, efficient shoot days, capture what we need around your schedule, and leave the office working exactly the way we found it.

Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we get asked most about recruitment video, answered straight.

How much does a recruitment video cost in Toronto?

Most recruitment video projects at Lapse Productions land between $3,410 and $8,000, driven by shoot days, locations, and how many cutdowns come out of the edit. A single-day culture video sits at the low end, while multi-location shoots with role-specific versions sit higher. There are no fixed packages: you set the scope and we quote our itemized rates against it. Our video production pricing page shows the full rate card, and our guide to what a video costs explains what moves the number.

How long should a recruitment video be?

A careers page culture video works best at 90 seconds to two and a half minutes: long enough to tell a real story, short enough to hold attention. Clips attached to individual job postings and social hiring ads should run 15 to 60 seconds. We deliver multiple lengths from one shoot, so every placement gets the right cut.

Our employees are not professional actors. Will they come across well on camera?

Yes, and this is exactly our specialty. We never hand employees a script. Our directors run relaxed, conversational interviews, and the questions do the work: people talk naturally about what they know, and the honest moments make the final edit. Nervous team members usually forget the camera is there within minutes.

How disruptive is the filming to a normal workday?

Very little. Most recruitment shoots wrap in a single day with a compact crew. We schedule interviews in short slots around meetings, film b-roll without staging the whole office, and stay flexible when the workday shifts. Your team keeps working; we work around them.

Can one shoot produce videos for different roles and departments?

Yes, and it is the most efficient way to run the project. One well-planned day can capture the master culture video plus interviews and b-roll for engineering, sales, and operations, which we then cut into role-specific videos for individual job postings. Scoping this up front keeps the cost per video low.

What is the difference between a recruitment video and a testimonial video?

The audience. A recruitment video features your employees and speaks to candidates: it sells the workplace. A testimonial video features your customers and speaks to buyers: it sells the product or service. The two look similar on camera but serve different pages and different goals. See our testimonial video production page for the customer-facing version.
