What We Produce

Education and E-Learning Video Production, Four Ways

Four formats cover almost every brief from a school, a university, or an online program. Most admissions and marketing teams end up using two or three of them.

Student and alumni testimonials

The most persuasive thing on an admissions page is a student who sounds like themselves. We run relaxed, unscripted interviews that put nervous students and proud alumni at ease, then cut the strongest moments into social proof. See testimonial video production for the format.

Campus tours and facility overviews

Cinematic footage of classrooms, labs, residences, and student life that lets a prospective family picture themselves on campus before they visit. Licensed drone footage shows the scale of the grounds in a single shot.

Online courses and e-learning modules

Multi-camera lecture capture, screen recordings, and motion graphics for online curricula, corporate training, and educational software. Built for retention: chaptered, captioned, and formatted for your LMS. Deeper concept breakdowns cross into explainer video territory, and we produce those too.

Faculty profiles and staff recruitment

Attract educators, administrators, and researchers by showing them the culture, the colleagues, and the mission. Faculty profiles double as trust-builders on program pages. Our recruitment video production page covers the hiring side in depth.

Producing clinical training, medical education, or patient information for a hospital, faculty of medicine, or nursing program? Our healthcare video production page covers that work, including privacy and clinical review.

Our Process

How Your Education Video Gets Made

Five steps, two founders watching every one of them. You always know what happens next, and so does your administration.

Discovery and brief

We start with the audience (prospective students, parents, learners, or faculty), the admissions or launch date the video needs to hit, and the programs, spaces, and people you want on screen.

Consent and scheduling

We coordinate with your administration on release forms, privacy policy, and which students and staff will appear, then build a shoot schedule around the timetable so no class is interrupted. Everything is approved before a date is booked.

The shoot

A compact crew films interviews, lecture capture, and campus b-roll with unobtrusive gear, keeping non-consenting students out of frame and staying out of the way of teaching.

Edit and accessibility review

We cut, grade, mix, and add captions and transcripts that help meet AODA accessibility requirements, then take you through two structured rounds of revisions on Frame.io.

Delivery

Final files in every length and aspect ratio your website, social channels, and LMS need, with the raw footage available on request. You own all of it, outright.

Why Lapse

Why Schools and Universities Choose Lapse Productions

Filming in an educational setting is different. Students may be minors, privacy rules are strict, the timetable does not move for a camera crew, and the audience is a parent or a prospective student deciding where to spend years of their life. We plan for all of it, so the video earns trust without costing you a single lesson.

We are chameleons: any institution, any program, any platform. Across education we produce promotional videos for admissions campaigns, event coverage for convocations and open houses, and teleprompter-supported lecture and instructor content, and this industry work is one part of our full video production services in Toronto.

Founder-led delivery

Dario and Kyrill, the co-founders, run every project personally, from the first call through final delivery. No account managers, no handoffs. Meet the team.

Respectful of students and privacy

We know filming with minors and in learning spaces requires tact. Release forms, privacy policy, and framing decisions are agreed with your administration before we arrive, and the crew is discreet and professional on the day.

Minimal disruption to classes

You cannot put education on hold to make a video. Compact gear, short interview slots, and a schedule built around the timetable mean your teachers teach and your students learn while we work around them.

Built for accessibility and retention

Captions, transcripts, and clear chaptering come standard, so your videos help meet AODA requirements and hold attention on an LMS, a phone, or a projector in a lecture hall.

Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we get asked most about education and e-learning video, answered straight.

How much does education video production cost in Toronto?

Most education and e-learning video projects at Lapse Productions land between $3,410 and $8,000. A single videographer filming a faculty profile or a half-day of campus b-roll sits at the low end, while a full crew covering multiple days across a large campus or producing a multi-module course sits higher. There are no fixed packages: you set the scope and we quote our itemized rates against it. Our video production pricing page shows the full rate card, and our guide to what a video costs explains what moves the number.

Do I need a single videographer or a full production crew?

It depends on the project. A faculty profile, a student interview, or b-roll of your school is usually a job for one skilled videographer. A multi-location university shoot, a full e-learning curriculum, or an admissions campaign with talent and locations scales up to a full crew. We recommend the smallest team that will not miss anything, and we will tell you when one operator is enough.

What types of educational organizations do you film for?

Across Toronto and the GTA we film for K-12 private and independent schools, colleges and universities, online course creators and e-learning platforms, corporate training and development programs, and educational non-profits and charities. If your organization teaches something, we have almost certainly filmed a version of it.

How do you handle student privacy and consent while filming?

Student privacy comes first. We work with your administration to make sure filming follows your internal policies and applicable privacy rules, provide standard release forms for students, parents, and staff who volunteer to appear, and shoot strategically so anyone who has not consented stays out of frame. Framing and interview plans are agreed before the shoot, not improvised on the day.

Do we get to keep the raw footage?

Yes. Unlike many production companies, we transfer the unedited raw files on request, so your admissions, marketing, or communications team can re-cut the material for future social campaigns, alumni newsletters, and updated website content. You own the final videos outright as well.

Do you film convocations, open houses, and campus events?

Yes. We cover convocations, open houses, orientation weeks, guest lectures, and fundraising galas across Toronto, from a single camera on a keynote to multi-camera coverage of a full program, with same-day social cuts available while the event is still trending. See our event video production page for that format.
